The Poetry Room is a space for ongoing encounters with language and a chance for you to participate in the discourse that literature initiates. What we have in mind is not a chat room but hopefully a place conducive to more thoughtful reflection.

James Baker Hall — Finely tuned work from a master of observation. Included along with the poems are some of Jim's photographs from a series entitled "Orphans In The Attic."

Louis Jenkins — Prose poems full of humor and quiet wisdom. Three new poems added in July, 2000 that were read on Writer's Almanac. Also, we've included an interview done by RipSaw News out of Duluth.

William Stafford — Seventeen poems from the poet who inspired this site. Newsfromnowhere.com began as a tribute to Stafford. We also have a brief biography of the poet.
